Summer School – Introduction to Drawing

On this course you will be introduced to some of the basic skills of observational drawing.

What The Course is About:

You will learn the basic principles of observational drawing, beginning with simple shapes and proportion through to conveying volume and space. You will learn to use pencil, charcoal and other medium to describe form and light. Using a variety of materials you will explore different forms of description and expression.

Materials Required:

What to bring to the first session: Bring to the first class any drawing materials you possess; paper and further items can be purchased from the school shop.

Previous Experience:

Suitable for complete beginners who have never drawn or students who have not drawn for a while or need to gain confidence.

End of course:

You will learn the basic principles of observational drawing. The aim of the course is to help you to develop your observational skills further and build your confidence when interpreting and recording what you see.
