This course is ideal for students needing to build a portfolio of course work for GCSE or A Level, and possibly becoming part of a portfolio for art school.

What The Course is About:

This course is designed for students who wish to develop a strong portfolio of artwork, whether for GCSE, A Level, or as preparation for art school applications. It provides a supportive environment to refine skills and expand creative projects, with many students choosing to use the sessions to extend or enhance their school coursework.

What You’ll Learn

  • Drawing: Explore subject matter through image and object studies, developing observational and technical skills.
  • Painting: Work within chosen themes, applying techniques to bring ideas to life on canvas or paper.
  • Methods & Materials: Experiment with a variety of mediums—including pencils, charcoal, and brushes—while learning how to prepare surfaces and apply different approaches.
  • Composition: Engage in thoughtful exploration of how to structure and integrate elements into a cohesive painting.
