NEW: Independent Practice (Pottery)

This pottery opportunity is aimed at current and recent PSAD students with studio experience and safe working practices who need additional time for making and finishing work. You will be able to work on your own projects without a tutor, but with a technician on site.

You can attend on a ‘Pay As You Go’ basis, session by session, subject to place availability.

Alternatively, you can book your place on individual sessions in advance online or with our administration team.

Pay As You Go fee is £27.50 (£22.50 for 60+ Wandsworth Residents)

What The Course is About:

Independent Practice sessions are available to current PSAD students that already have experience of working with clay and are interested in working to complete their own projects. You will be expected to work using safe practices and manage the progress of your own work.

Materials Required:

For the first lesson, please bring:

  • A notebook or sketchbook and something to write with.
  • A waterproof, wipeable apron.
  • Any pottery tools you already have.
  • A digital camera or camera phone to record your work, if possible.

Communal tools and aprons are available to help you get started. Basic pottery tools can also be purchased from the school shop.

Clay, slips, glazes and colouring materials are provided. Stoneware, earthenware (terracotta) and porcelain clays are available. Your clay work will be weighed before firing, and a charge will be made to cover the clay, two firings, and glaze or colouring materials.

Previous Experience:

This course is aimed at current PSAD students with experience who need additional time within the pottery studio.
