2 Days: Surface Printing on Clay
What The Course is About:
A Surface Printing on Clay course is a specialized ceramic workshop focusing on decorating pottery using printmaking techniques like screen printing, monoprinting, and stencils. Participants will learn to apply slip, oxides, or underglazes onto clay slabs or bisqueware, combining imagery with handbuilding to create decorated functional or artistic pieces.
Day 1 (14th June)
Screen Printing: creating custom designs using silkscreens or vinyl on clay slabs.
Underglaze Transfers: Preparing transfer sheets using liquid underglazes on paper for application to clay.
Day 2 (21 June)
Monoprinting: Directly applying imagery to clay for a weathered or unique, one-off look.
Stencils & Stamps: Utilizing paper stencils, sponges, and handmade stamps for layered textures and images.
Slip Decoration: Techniques like sgraffito, inlay, and slip trailing on decorated slabs.

This course is for all levels, from beginners seeking to learn surface techniques to intermediate / advance students aiming to refine their skills in decoration.
