Oct Half Term – 2 Day Workshop: Introduction to Pottery 3D Campus

This course is aimed at anyone interested in clay and pottery.

What The Course is About:

Learn and enjoy the magic of throwing on the wheel or handbuilding, with professional instruction on how to make a range of pottery shapes or a project. The course will also provide opportunity to glaze if appropriate.

Materials Required:

For the first lesson please bring a notebook / sketchbook and something to write with; a digital camera or camera phone is useful to record of your work. Basic hand tools can be bought from the school shop but there are also some communal tools available to start with. Materials such as clay, slips and glazes are provided and a charge is made based on the weight of your work prior to firing. You will also need a suitable waterproof apron.

Previous Experience:

This course is ideal for complete beginners who have never worked with clay before, or for those with some experience, who’d like to brush up their skills and gain confidence in throwing, hand building and glazing.

End of course:

What will I achieve? This class offers beginners to try throwing on the wheel and basic handbuilding with the magic of clay! Works will be fired and glazed after the end of the course.
