What The Course is About:
All Levels (Friday PM):
The aim of the course is to enable students to take better photographs with their camera so that hopefully they will not have to spend much time correcting the results in Photoshop. The emphasis is on camera practice and developing a critical aesthetic eye. This is achieved by making excursions into different photographic scenarios/locations, taking photographs, comparing results and looking into ways to make improvements. You will learn through group discussions, tutor briefing prior to the excursions and one to one tuition when photographing on location.
Intermediate Level (Friday AM):
This course is designed for students who ideally have taken the 'All levels Digital Photography and Editing in Photoshop' course. You should be able to use your digital camera in manual mode, understand the basics of aperture, shutter and ISO, and understand how to use the main menus and functions on your camera. Students should also have some familiarity with editing softare such as Lightroom and Photoshop.
This course is aimed at developing camera and picture editing software skills to enable students to take more professional looking photographs. Through a combination of tutor led tutorials and group practical exercises the course takes a deep dive into several common photographic subjects and software manipulation techniques. Some practical exercises will be at various locations in London. Time will be given on each subject in order for students to better understand the steps involved from capturing images to enhancing them in post processing.
