Summer School – Monoprinting
Suitable for those wanting to learn about using Monoprinting as an exciting and spontaneous way to produce one-off and unique printed images.
What The Course is About:
This is a taster course introducing Monoprinting, this technique involves making an image on a surface that can then be printed onto paper using a printing press. Monoprinting is a fantastic way to try out new ideas and explore painterly and expressive mark making. On this course you will first work in a single colour and then learn to use multiple colours. Suitable for beginners or as a refresher.
Materials Required:
If you have a painting, drawing or image you’d like to refer to, or work from during the course, please bring it along. Please bring a selection of pencils 2H, HB, 2B, 6B, and you will need some basic paintbrushes which can be purchased from the school shop, along with paper and other materials. Monoprinting can be messy so it’s a good idea to bring an apron, and rubber gloves are available from the School Shop.
Previous Experience:
Suitable for complete beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills.
End of course:
On this course you will learn: This course will provide a taster, you will learn some different Monoprinting techniques, using single and multiple colours, and printing with or without a printing press.
