May Half Term – Collagraph Printmaking Day

A one-day course where you will create a collagraph plate using simple found materials, textured papers, glue, resins and more.

What The Course is About:

A one-day course where you will create a collagraph plate using simple found materials, textured papers, glue, resins and more. You will learn how to ink and prepare plates in order to make successful prints, explore texture, layers and colour areas creating images using simple collected waste textured materials. You will explore the possibilities of collagraph printmaking using techniques such as simple registration on the press bed to create layered and multi coloured prints, printing over textural collagraph images with found materials, blind embossing, multi coloured inking to create monoprint images.

Materials Required:

What to bring to the first session: Please collect a range of papers, card, textures. String cottons and twine. Shiny papers as well as matt and textured. Tape, sandpaper, scrim bandaging etc. , a notebook and basic drawing / sketching medium.

End of course:

What will I achieve? You will learn some techniques and experiment with a variety of materials in producing collagraph prints.
