Oct Half Term – Pottery: Glazing Workshop

This course is aimed at students that want an introduction to glazing or to improve their glazing selection and techniques.

What The Course is About:

This course will explain the different methods to glaze work, common pitfalls of glazing and designing your pots for easy glazing. We will also talk about testing glazes and building up a collection of test tiles. The course will also discuss using underglazes, oxides and colourants and the importance of temperature. You will also have instruction on how to use the spray booth.

Materials Required:

You must bring a mask! Several portions of the course will require you to wear a mask. Please bring bisqueware or tiles you would like to glaze. If you do not have any some will be supplied. Paint brushes and a notebook are highly recommended.

Previous Experience:

Suitable for students with some experience of pottery.

End of course:

This course will give you practice glazing and make you more confident with the science and techniques to get better results.
