Summer School – Colour Mixing for Screenprinting

A one-day workshop for screenprinters who want to develop their confidence in mixing and choosing colours for their prints.

What The Course is About:

In this one day practical workshop you will learn how to handle your screenprint colours more accurately and confidently. Discover the fundamentals of colour theory and colour mixing for screen printing. Learn how to control ink transparency, hue and tone and how to combine colours into a palette that works.

Materials Required:

What to bring to the session: The cost of workshop-based materials such as inks, newsprint, chemicals and equipment maintenance are included in the fees. Your main additional expense will be papers and tapes. Bring basic art equipment (such as brushes, pencils and knives), although these are available in the workshop. Bring some ideas for colours you would like to explore. You could also bring some layers for a print you want to experiment with.

Previous Experience:

Suitable for those who already know the basics of screenprinting.

End of course:

You will be able to mix and choose your screenprint colours more accurately and confidently.
